LEADERSHIP COUNCILS

The Alliance unites the organ donation, transplantation and healthcare communities to promote collaboration, cascade innovations and share effective practices for the benefit of restoring lives through transplantation.

The Alliance is currently accepting membership applications for our three national leadership councils, for a two-year term beginning in January 2024. These councils, composed of professionals from across the country, offer their time and expertise to provide vital contributions to the donation and transplantation community. Please review the charters below, outlining respective council goals and participation requirements.

The following councils are currently seeking new members:

The Alliance National Innovation Leadership Council facilitates leadership networking and innovative idea exchange, development and implementation within the organ donation and transplantation community in an effort to save and heal more lives.

These specialties are preferred but not required to apply:

  • Transplant Administrators
  • Transplant Surgeons/Physicians/Nurses
  • Transplant Leadership
  • Corporate Partners
  • OPO Senior Leadership

*Please note: Submissions for the Leadership & Innovation Council require the addition of a brief description of an idea you have implemented or would like to propose for consideration by the council.

The Alliance National Donation Leadership Council works to develop and provide resources and education to improve and advance the organ donation process. The council supports hospital and donation professionals’ efforts in the sharing of knowledge, data and successful practices as it relates to identification of potential donors, family support and communication, and optimizing the availability of organs for transplantation.

These specialties are preferred but not required to apply:

  • Palliative Care Professionals
  • Neurosurgeons, Neurologists or Neurocritical Care Specialists
  • OPO Senior Leadership
  • Anesthesiologists
  • Hospital Development or Family Services Leaders

The Alliance National Transplant Leadership Council works to promote engagement of transplant centers by identifying issues and developing programs and resources relevant to transplant center performance and advancement. The council supports transplant center professionals’ efforts to end deaths on the national organ transplant waiting list, increase organ utilization and improve transplant patient outcomes.
