This study evaluated how people perceive the quality and empathy of ChatGPT-generated information about kidney transplantation. Researchers used 86 real-world kidney transplant questions from Reddit and had 565 U.S. adults rate ChatGPT’s responses. The study found that perceptions of information quality varied by race/ethnicity and education level, highlighting the need for AI tools to better address diverse patient communication and information needs.
