The Alliance Conversation Series
In the United States, Latino communities face considerable challenges in accessing healthcare services, including transplantation. This discussion aims to deepen our understanding of Hispanic cultural values and beliefs related to donation and transplantation. By adopting culturally sensitive strategies, our panelists will demonstrate how transplant centers can effectively engage with the latino community to address these barriers and develop patient-centered initiatives that will provide equitable access to transplantation and improve outcomes.
- Develop effective strategies and patient-centered initiatives to provide equitable access to transplantation for the Latino community by ensuring that resources are culturally tailored to address specific needs and barriers faced by this community.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Hispanic cultural values and beliefs related to transplantation to better engage with Latino communities.
- Identify and utilize tools and resources designed to boost transplantation rates within the Latino community, including strategies for promoting living donation.
- Describe how transplant professionals can effectively use social media to enhance transplantation access and maintain engagement with Hispanic patients.
Members of the donation and transplantation community serving diverse populations to include administrators, coordinators, physicians, nurses, surgeons, managers, quality improvement specialists, social workers, and other donation and transplantation center professionals and their colleagues.
