Improving Donation Outcomes: Leveraging Case Reviews to Drive Awareness and Change

Presented on: Tuesday, September 13, 2022

Case reviews are an effective way for Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) to identify areas of opportunities to improve donation outcomes. In this discussion, we will review different approaches and models for case reviews from the clinical, family support, and hospital development perspectives. Our panelists will discuss the structures they use, how they have evolved over time, and how they have had a positive impact on their organization’s performance and culture.

  • Evaluate 2-3 opportunities within their own organization where case reviews might be valuable.
  • Identify different data points that can drive the conversation during case reviews to make a meaningful impact on future cases and outcomes.
  • Describe the benefits of investing time and resources in case reviews.
