This Alliance Conversation Series program will provide a unique window into how payers approach transplant program Centers of Excellence (COE) designation. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the payer landscape in transplantation, learn strategies for positioning their programs within payer networks, and explore the process of appealing when access to a preferred center is denied. The session is designed to help transplant professionals better navigate payer relationships and advocate effectively for their patients and programs.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how payers evaluate and designate transplant Centers of Excellence (COEs), including key selection criteria and network considerations.

  • Describe the structure and dynamics of the payer landscape in transplantation, including how to proactively position a program within payer networks.

  • Identify when and how to initiate an appeal process to advocate for patient access to preferred transplant centers.
