The Alliance, in partnership with the Association of Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation (AMAT), will host “Bridging the Gap: Leading with Cultural Integrity to Reignite Trust and Hope in Donation and Transplantation” on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm CT. The half-day workshop will bring together leaders and professionals from across the organ donation and transplantation community to explore solutions for strengthening trust, advancing equitable access, and navigating an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.
Designed as an immersive, solutions-focused experience, the workshop will provide participants with practical tools and strategies for navigating system changes while fostering meaningful relationships with the diverse communities they serve. Through keynote presentations, expert panel discussions and interactive group exercises, attendees will examine how industry changes, including OPO certifications, mergers and other system-wide changes, are reshaping public trust, organizational culture and community engagement.
Featured sessions will explore topics including:
- The evolving donation and transplantation ecosystem and its impact on public trust.
- The effects of OPO certifications, mergers and other industry changes on organizational culture and community relationships.
- Trauma-informed and culturally responsive strategies for strengthening trust with donor families, transplant recipients, colleagues and community partners.
- Action planning to help organizations build stronger, more trusted relationships while expanding equitable access to donation and transplantation.
The workshop reflects the shared commitment of The Alliance and AMAT to advancing collaboration, cultural integrity and equitable access throughout the donation and transplantation continuum.
Professionals interested in attending the workshop are not required to register for the full AMAT Conference. Individuals wishing to participate only in the workshop should select the “Workshop ONLY” registration option. The registration fee for the workshop-only option is $195.
Attendees who are already registered for the full AMAT Conference may attend the workshop at no additional cost, and no separate workshop registration is required.
