Call for Participation in National AI Collaborative Launched to Advance Organ Transplantation and Donation

0

The Alliance is launching the Artificial Intelligence Transplant & Donation Resource Collaborative, a national, multi-stakeholder initiative to accelerate the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) in organ donation and transplantation. This effort will convene experts across sectors to coordinate, share, and align AI-driven initiatives that have the potential to transform the donation–transplantation ecosystem.

The Collaborative is designed to:

  • Convene a Cross-Sector Working Group: Bringing together associations, societies, research institutions, and private sector innovators.

  • Inventory Current Activities: Mapping AI-related projects, pilots, and research already underway in donation and transplantation.

  • Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: Providing a platform for sharing successes, challenges, and lessons learned.

  • Promote Strategic Collaboration: Identifying overlapping efforts to encourage alignment, co-development, and data-sharing.

  • Identify Programmatic Priorities: Producing guidance and strategy documents to highlight promising areas for AI investment and infrastructure support.

By fostering collaboration and reducing redundancy, the Collaborative aims to enhance the collective impact of AI applications—ultimately improving outcomes for patients and increasing efficiency in donation and transplantation.
