The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance (The Alliance) is proud to announce its 40 Under 40 Class of 2026, recognizing 40 exceptional professionals who are shaping the future of organ donation and transplantation through leadership, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the field.
Now in its second year, the 40 Under 40 program honors emerging leaders working across organ procurement organizations, transplant centers, hospitals, research institutions and industry partners. Selected from a highly competitive pool of nominations submitted from across the country, this year’s honorees represent the depth of talent and dedication driving progress throughout the donation and transplantation continuum. The 2026 program follows an inaugural year that attracted more than 100 nominations nationwide and highlighted the remarkable contributions of young professionals across the field.
“The future of organ donation and transplantation depends on the vision, dedication, and leadership of professionals who are willing to challenge convention, build stronger partnerships, and pursue better outcomes for donors, recipients, and their families,” said Karri Hobson-Pape, Executive Director of The Alliance. “The individuals recognized in this year’s 40 Under 40 program exemplify those qualities and represent the next generation of leaders who will continue to strengthen and advance our field.”
Honorees were selected through a formal adjudication process that evaluated nominees based on leadership and professional achievements, innovation and impact, and commitment to advancing organ donation and transplantation. The selected class reflects a broad range of disciplines and professional experiences, united by a shared dedication to improving systems, fostering collaboration, and enhancing patient care.
The Alliance launched the 40 Under 40 program to celebrate outstanding rising professionals while highlighting the importance of workforce development and leadership cultivation across the donation and transplantation community. As the field continues to evolve, these individuals are helping shape new approaches, strengthen organizational performance, and advance the mission of saving and improving lives through donation and transplantation.
