Applications are being accepted through Oct. 31 for National Leadership Councils, National Collaboratives and other key volunteer roles
The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance (The Alliance) is inviting professionals from across the organ donation and transplantation community to help shape the work of the field through service on several of its national councils and collaboratives.
Applications are now open for volunteer leadership opportunities beginning in 2027, with submissions accepted through Oct. 31, 2026.
The Alliance is powered in significant part by a dedicated community of hundreds of professional volunteers representing diverse disciplines, organizations and levels of leadership. These professionals contribute their time, experience and expertise to develop educational resources, identify and address shared challenges, exchange effective practices and help equip a modern profession of lifesavers.
“Volunteer leadership is foundational to the work of The Alliance,” said Karri Hobson-Pape, Executive Director of The Alliance. “The strength of our programs and resources comes from bringing together professionals who understand the opportunities and challenges facing donation and transplantation firsthand. We encourage individuals from across the community to consider how their experience and perspective can contribute to this important work.”
Opportunities to Lead, Collaborate and Contribute
Applications are being accepted for the following groups:
- The Alliance National Donation Leadership Council, which develops resources and education to advance the organ donation process and supports the exchange of knowledge, data and effective practices among donation and hospital professionals.
- The Alliance National Transplant Leadership Council, which identifies issues and develops programs and resources focused on transplant center performance, organ utilization and patient outcomes.
- The Alliance National Innovation Leadership Council, which fosters leadership networking and the exchange, development and implementation of innovative ideas across donation and transplantation.
- The Alliance National Transplant and Donation Quality Collaborative, which brings together professionals from transplant programs and organ procurement organizations to strengthen quality as a specialty, including competencies, standards, education and continuous improvement.
- The Alliance Transplant Payer Collaborative, which creates a platform for dialogue among transplant programs, payers and other stakeholders to advance best practices, equitable access, patient outcomes and greater alignment across the transplantation landscape.
- The Alliance Artificial Intelligence Transplant and Donation Resource Collaborative, a national, multistakeholder initiative bringing together expertise across sectors to coordinate, share and advance the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence in organ donation and transplantation.
Together, these councils and collaboratives provide opportunities for professionals to contribute beyond their individual organizations, connect with peers nationally and help develop solutions, resources and priorities that can benefit the broader community of practice.
Professionals at varying stages of their careers and from across disciplines are encouraged to consider applying. The Alliance values representation from throughout the donation and transplantation continuum and seeks volunteers who bring practical expertise, curiosity, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to advancing the profession.
