The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance cordially invites you to our special invitation-only event, The 2020 National Critical Issues Forum, to be held virtually November 16-17, 2020.

This year brought tremendous changes in donation and transplantation. The National Critical Issues Forum, “Destination Thinking,” will examine strategies to craft plans for the future, to capitalize on changes in the field and to cultivate more effective partnerships among hospitals, OPOs and transplant programs – ultimately saving more lives.

Together, we’ll examine high-performing organizations across the organ donation and transplantation continuum and the unique tactics that gave way to their success. Participants will take part in collaborative Success Lab breakout sessions, brainstorming innovative solutions for key operational, financial and partnership-related issues. After the success labs, specific issues will be identified to guide on-going collaboration and work plans.

  • Improving identification of “beyond criteria” potential donors
  • Increasing and optimizing organ utilization to enhance economic performance
  • Implementing effective distribution of organs for transplant
  • Analyzing critical data for optimum decision making
  • Adapting to environmental and cultural change to facilitate effective growth

  • Please make every effort to participate using a laptop or desktop computer equipped with a webcam and microphone. Attending by mobile device will not provide you with the full interactive experience.
  • Attendees will be called on to participate in the interactive discussion. Find a location that is free of interruption and background noise, and most importantly, has reliable high-speed internet.

By the end of this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Demonstrate how a synergistic approach to improving organ utilization enhances performance for the OPO and transplant center
  • Explore how leveraging data drives appropriate action
  • Understand the challenges of revised allocation models for OPOs and transplant centers
  • Develop the ability to handle change in operations as it relates to finance, ethics, logistics and optimization

Nursing
The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance is offering 5.75 hours of continuing education credit for this offering, approved by The California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP17117.  No partial credits will be awarded. CE credit will be issued upon request within 30 days post-forum.

CEPTC
The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance will be offering 5.75 Category I CEPTC credits from the American Board for Transplant Certification. Certified clinical transplant and procurement coordinators and certified clinical transplant nurses seeking CEPTC credit must complete the evaluation form within 30 days of the event.

CME
AdventHealth Tampa is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. AdventHealth Tampa designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.75 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
