A histocompatibility laboratory is a member of the OPTN. A histocompatibility laboratory member is any histocompatibility laboratory that performs histocompatibility testing, including but not limited to, Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) typing, antibody screening, compatibility testing, or crossmatching, and serves at least one transplant hospital member or OPO. Histocompatibility laboratory members are either independent or hospital-based.
