UNetSM

Centralized computer network which links all organ procurement organizations (OPOs) and transplant centers; the network is maintained by UNOS (Alliance Terminology & Data Resources May 2021)

The secure Internet-based transplant information database created by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) for the nation’s organ transplant institutions to register patients for transplants, match donated organs to transplant candidates, and manage the time-sensitive, life-critical data of both candidates and recipients. UNetSM is used by the nation’s organ transplant programs, organ procurement organizations (OPOs) and histocompatibility laboratories that work cooperatively to place donated organs safely and equitable.
