What You’ll Do

· Dual Advocacy: Balance deep empathy for grieving families with a steadfast commitment to advocating for the donor’s final wishes.

· Uphold First-Person Authorization: Respectfully guide families through the donation process by honoring, validating, and upholding documented first-person donor designations.

· Crisis Support & Guidance: Provide compassionate care, active listening, and clear communication to potential donor families during their darkest hours.

· Clinical Collaboration: Partner closely with hospital healthcare teams, social workers, and clinical OPO coordinators to ensure a seamless, legally compliant, and deeply respectful process.

What You Bring

· Credentials: Background in grief counseling, Social Work (MSW/BSW), Family Counseling, Chaplaincy, OPO experience, or a related clinical/human services field.

· Experience: Full-time OPO experience, minimum of two years, required. Prior experience in crisis intervention, grief support, or ICU/ED environments, is highly valued.

· Attributes: High emotional intelligence, a calm presence under pressure, and a profound commitment to ethical standards, legal compliance, and donor advocacy.
