Dr. Adyr Moss is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He joined Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona in 1999 in the Department of Surgery and is currently the chair for the division of Transplant Surgery.
Dr. Moss received his M.D. degree from the Federal University of Parana in Curitiba, Brazil, where he also completed residency in General Surgery and Gastrointestinal Surgery. In addition, he then completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Minnesota and Cleveland Clinic; then fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Moss is a member of the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, American Society of Transplant Surgeons, American Society for Transplantation, American Medical Association, as well as a Fellow and Member of the American College of Surgeons. Within Mayo Clinic Dr. Moss is a current member of the Cancer Center Executive Committee of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center and the Priestley Society. He has received honors as Educator of the Year in Surgery and Surgical Specialties by the Mayo Clinic Fellows Association, the Golden Apple Award from the American Medical Student Association, and the MacDonald Wood Award from Maricopa Integrated Health System.
In addition to Dr. Moss’s 121 peer-reviewed publications he also has many abstracts and several book chapters to his credit. He has participated in numerous international and national presentations. His areas of interest are abdominal organ transplantation and surgical treatment of benign and malignant hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.
