Allan Porter is the Senior Director of Data Science at LiveOnNY, where he leads the transformation of data strategy to support life-saving organ donation and transplantation across the region. He joined LiveOnNY in 2022 as Director of Data Intelligence and was promoted to his current role in 2023.
Recruited to modernize the organization’s data infrastructure and build robust analytical pipelines, Allan leverages data science, predictive modeling, and machine learning to uncover insights that optimize operations, improve organ placement, and ultimately help honor donors and save more lives. Before joining LiveOnNY, he worked as a Data Scientist at Mount Sinai Health System, where he developed advanced analytics to support clinical decision-making. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Queens College.
He was nominated for The Alliance 40 Under 40 by Kelly Anderson, Press Officer and Director of Communications at LiveOnNY. Anderson described Allan as a driving force behind the organization’s transformation from a tier three to a tier one OPO, noting that his work turning complex data into actionable insights contributed to more than 5,000 lives being removed from the transplant waitlist over four years, as LiveOnNY achieved an 85 percent increase in organ donation over five years.
