The Transplant Community Collaborative Crosswalk is a comprehensive reference document that bridges the regulations of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN). Initiated by a collective query on the Transplant Quality listserv, this project brought together 41 individuals representing numerous transplant programs nationwide. Their mission: to develop a user-friendly tool capable of seamlessly aligning CMS and OPTN guidelines, catering to professionals across all levels of expertise and roles within the transplant community.

After extensive collaboration, countless hours of effort, multiple iterations, and rigorous peer reviews, the resulting crosswalk document stands as a testament to the community’s dedication. Designed for accessibility and practicality, it ensures clarity in navigating the often complex regulatory landscape governing transplantation practices.
