Dr. Chet Patel is a heart failure and transplant cardiologist who joined the faculty in 2010 after completing his training at Duke. Over the past 12 years he has served in a number of roles. Dr. Patel has led teams to develop innovative solutions for patients with advanced heart failure, and expanded access to heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support devices. These Duke programs are now amongst the largest in the world and provide multidisciplinary care while simultaneously training the next generation of academic clinicians as well as maintaining a high level of scholarly output. Dr. Patel currently serves as the Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Medicine, focusing on care delivery across the medical specialties.
