Improving Transplant Access and Equity: A Tale of Two Centers
The concept of equity within donation and transplantation is health justice; providing health care access, treatments, and improved outcomes for all. During this session, we will welcome two centers to share recent efforts they’ve made to improve access to transplant care for the diverse populations they serve. Our panelists will provide details on staff recruitment strategies they’ve implemented to create a more diversified team, the expansion of patient education and engagement tools, and a newly developed Patient Assistance Program. Additional details will be provided on the overall impact of these strategies and how they’ve improved health equity within their service areas.
