Darryl Nethercot

Darryl Nethercot, MSN, RN, CPTC, LSSBB, serves as Director of Organ Operations at Lifesharing, the designated organ procurement organization serving San Diego. In this role, he leads the clinical and operational teams responsible for organ recovery, donor management, and allocation, working to ensure that every donor’s gift is honored and that as many lives as possible are saved through transplantation.
Darryl’s work centers on strengthening organ yield and utilization, advancing regulatory and quality performance, and bringing innovative recovery practices such as normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) and normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) into everyday practice. He is passionate about building high performing, resilient teams and creating operational systems that free clinical staff to focus on what matters most, the donors and families they serve.
A registered nurse and Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator, Darryl brings together bedside clinical experience, process improvement expertise as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and a strategic view of the donation and transplantation system as a whole. He is committed to positioning Lifesharing as a national leader in procurement practice and to advancing the field through collaboration and shared learning.
Beyond his operational role, Darryl is an educator and mentor dedicated to developing the next generation of donation professionals. He believes deeply in the mission of donation and in the responsibility to honor each donor’s decision with excellence, compassion, and integrity.
