David Andrijevic completed medical school in Croatia, during which he gained extensive research experience as a visiting scientist in Canada, France, Turkey, and Germany. After graduation, he joined Yale School of Medicine, where he led the development of ‘OrganEx’—a groundbreaking perfusion platform that restores cellular activity in multiple vital organs after one hour of complete circulatory arrest in pigs. This achievement earned the recognition from the NIH, The New York Times, National Geographic, and others, as one of the breakthroughs of the year. Currently, David is undergoing surgical training at NYU, where he continues to pursue his passion for using surgery and machine perfusion to study the novel methods for organ recovery.
