Dr. Ezz-Eldin Moukamal is a highly experienced and respected physician leader with a deep commitment to patient care and quality improvement. Board certified in Internal Medicine with a focus on Hospital Medicine, Dr. Moukamal has consistently demonstrated his leadership abilities in various roles throughout his career.

Currently, Dr. Moukamal serves as the Chief Medical Officer at AHN-Forbes Hospital, a position he has held since 2018. He also leads the CMO team for the Allegheny Health Network since 2022 and has been the Medical Director of Allegheny Health Network’s Hospitalist program since 2012. He further extends his expertise as the Medical Director for Home Recovery Care at Forbes Hospital.

Dr. Moukamal’ s journey began with a medical degree from the University of Aleppo, followed by an internship and Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Shadyside Hospital. He was appointed Chief Medical Resident in 2001, showcasing his early leadership potential. Following his residency, he practiced as an Internal Medicine physician at Endless Mountains Health System, gaining valuable experience in various healthcare settings.

Since joining the Forbes Hospital Medical Staff, Dr. Moukamal has actively participated in numerous committees and held key leadership positions, including Chief of Internal Medicine and lead physician advisor. He is also a dedicated board member at Pittsburgh’s Chapter of Hello Neighbor and Heritage Community Initiatives.

Throughout his career, Dr. Moukamal has consistently championed quality and value-oriented care initiatives, serving on multiple steering committees, and implementing impactful changes. His dedication to excellence has been recognized by his peers, earning him a spot among Pittsburgh Magazine’s “Best Hospital Medicine” doctors for many years.
