What makes my career in organ donation and transplantation truly special is the important intersection of clinical excellence and human connection. Every day, I have the privilege of working in a space where loss and hope exist simultaneously—where one family’s decision in their most difficult moment creates the opportunity to save and transform countless lives.
This work requires not only precision, urgency, and strong clinical partnerships, but also deep empathy, trust, and the ability to guide families and care teams through incredibly complex and emotional experiences. I am constantly reminded that behind every donor is a story, a family, and a legacy that deserves to be honored with the highest level of care and respect.
What makes this career especially meaningful to me is the opportunity to drive both systemic impact and individual moments of compassion. Through my role, I am able to strengthen hospital programs, improve processes, and expand access to donation, creating measurable change across entire systems. At the same time, I have the responsibility of advocating for donors and their families in real time, ensuring their wishes are honored and their loved one’s legacy is preserved.
There is nothing more powerful than witnessing the ripple effect of organ donation. One donor can save multiple lives, but the impact extends far beyond recipients; it touches families, healthcare teams, and entire communities. Being part of that continuum is both humbling and motivating.
Ultimately, what makes this career special is that it is rooted in purpose. It challenges me to lead with both strength and compassion, to innovate while honoring tradition, and to show up fully in moments that matter most. It is not just a career, but a calling to serve others in one of the most meaningful ways possible.
Hailey Beights, RN, BSN, serves as a Hospital Clinical Coordinator at Southern Legacy of Life, where she has dedicated the past four years to advancing organ donation across the state of Arkansas. She partners closely with hospitals to strengthen clinical practices, enhance donor identification and referral processes, and improve overall donation outcomes.
A key contributor to organizational growth, Hailey played an instrumental role in building and expanding the Hospital Clinical Coordinator position and led the implementation of DCD donor transfer programs at multiple hospitals throughout Arkansas, expanding access to life-saving transplantation while improving operational efficiency. In 2025, she founded and coordinated the inaugural Arkansas Donor Hospital Collaborative, bringing together hospital leaders from across the state to align strategies and share best practices. Her advocacy for donors and families earned her recognition as Trauma Champion of the Month by one of Central Arkansas’s largest donor hospitals—an award traditionally reserved for hospital staff.
She was nominated for The Alliance 40 Under 40 by Jeremy Lemmons, Manager of Hospital Development at Southern Legacy of Life. “She is an exceptional, driven professional whose dedication to excellence consistently elevates those around her,” Lemmons wrote, citing her clinical expertise, her relentless reliability, and the creativity and initiative she brought to launching the Arkansas Donor Hospital Collaborative.
