Jimmy Mendez possesses over thirty five years of experience in the healthcare field to include a national consulting firm, a large multi-hospital system, and a Medicare Audit Contractor. Jimmy holds a BBA from Texas State University and worked for Trailblazer Health Enterprises (a CMS Fiscal Intermediary) as a senior healthcare audit review specialist from 1985 to 2000. He joined CHRISTUS Health as a Senior Reimbursement Specialist from 2000 to 2015. Cost Report obligations for the CHRISTUS hospital system included the filing of 16 annual cost reports to include four sole community hospitals, one critical access hospital, one free standing Children’s Hospital, and one Skilled Nursing Facility. Also includes various sub-units such as Rehab, Psych, a transplant center and Rural Health Clinics.
Jimmy joined Guidry & East in 2015 as an independent consultant Senior Reimbursement and Cost Report specialist. His duties include providing cost report related services in the areas of cost report audits, Organ Acquisition audits, DSH services, Appeals, cost report preparation, and Medical Education reviews to include an assessment of Bed Management.
