After graduating from Kent State University in 1980, Joe began his professional career working for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh and served in various capacities including Accountant and Controller. From 1986 until its sale in 2002, Joe worked for the St. Francis Medical Center and the St. Francis Health System in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in increasingly responsible roles up to and including Chief Financial Officer of the three-hospital system. After the sale of the system, Joe assisted the Liquidating Receiver in finalizing the financial affairs of the organization up to and including final distribution of liquidated assets. Joe then was self-employed and provided consulting services to hospitals and legal firms. In 2005, Joe began his career at CORE as the Chief Financial Officer. In 2009, Joe became certified as a Professional in Human Resources. Joe has been active on the Association of Organ Procurement Organization’s (AOPO) Finance Council, has served as its Chair and Co-Chair, has presented at several AOPO Finance Council and Director’s meetings, has been both a faculty member and a Producer for the AOPO Annual meeting and has presented both locally and nationally on organ procurement finances. Joe is a member of the Executive Leadership Team of a Baldrige award-winning organization.
Joe retired in 2025 and now resides in North Carolina
