Joy is a wife, a mother of three girls and grandmother to one grandson. She found her calling to medicine as a medic in the Air Force, moving from floor care to interventional procedures to critical care and program management. In 2015 her husbands job moved them from Upstate NY to Arkansas, where she met a surgeon leader who hired her in transplant. The combination of critical care, complex patient care, unique finances (math nerd) and regulations (yes.. thanks to the military Joy likes rules!) became the perfect role. Joy has worked with her providers to increase transplantation three fold in her program, and move to top tier national outcomes.
Joy strongly believes that we should all “find a job (we) love”. And while the world of transplant is a lot of work, that love is what drives improvements in patient care every day.
