Brief Bio

Dr. Zier received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed a pediatric residency and pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of Minnesota. She has been a pediatric intensivist in both Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota since completing her fellowship in 1993. Dr. Zier served as chair of Children’s MN Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donation Committee and liaison to their OPO, LifeSource, from 2012-22 and was a member of the Clinical Policy Board of LifeSource from 2015-22. Dr. Zier has witnessed many changes in the pediatric organ donation process over her 30 year career caring for critically ill children and their families.
