I have spent the last 16 years in various operative roles in the xray field including 2 years at a small community hospital, 6 years as a lithotripsy specialist/hospital liaison, 5 years in level 1 trauma, and 3 years in small diagnostic/interventional cath lab. I carried education and/or hospital relation responsibilities in most of those roles. OPOs serve as the vital link between the donor and recipient and are responsible for the identification of donors, and the retrieval, preservation and transportation of organs for transplantation.</p>
