Kara Alvarez, BSN, RN, CCTC, is the Senior Nurse Manager of Transplant Data and Outcomes at AdventHealth Orlando, where she leverages data and operational strategy to enhance patient care across organ donation and transplantation. Her work centers on identifying performance gaps, translating data into actionable insights, and improving coordination throughout the donation and transplant continuum.
Kara’s perspective was shaped across the full continuum of care. She began in the transplant ICU and spent eight years as a liver transplant coordinator before bringing that clinical foundation to data and operational improvement. She has contributed to national workgroups aimed at strengthening UNOS data tools and serves as an inaugural member of the Steering Committee for The Alliance’s National Transplant and Donation Quality Collaborative, where she supports efforts to advance quality standards, align organizational priorities, and promote shared learning across the field.
She was nominated for The Alliance 40 Under 40 by Ashley Cardenas, Transplant Administrator at Renown Health. “Kara is exactly the kind of thoughtful, driven professional whose influence is helping to move the entire transplant community forward,” Cardenas wrote, praising Kara’s passion for collaboration and her steadfast dedication to improving systems of care at both the local and national level.
