Keila Franks (she/her) is an Organ Family Services Coordinator at Infinite Legacy. She has a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, and she has completed five units of Clinical Pastoral Education in her training to be an interfaith hospital chaplain. She has also served as an interfaith chaplain for the unhoused community in the greater Boston area and wrote her graduate thesis on a grief group she facilitated for that community. She has practiced in the Insight Buddhist tradition for 20 years, and is a mindfulness meditation facilitator.

While many care resources aim for neutrality, neutrality alone does not guarantee that every family feels understood or supported during organ donation and end-of-life conversations. This webinar will explore how OPO professionals and hospital staff can provide more meaningful support for families whose beliefs fall outside commonly represented religious frameworks. Through the lens of unconscious bias, participants will be invited to move beyond the comfort of familiarity and toward a practice rooted in curiosity, humility, and affirming care — ensuring that every family, regardless of belief system, receives the meaning, intentional support they deserve.
