Kyle Petersen is a registered nurse with over 10 years of experience in the pediatric ICU environment. During his time in the PICU, he cared for donor heroes and recipients and their respective families, and these experiences stoked his passion for organ and tissue donation. He was the co-chair of the Children’s Mercy Donation and Transplant Advocacy Team and nursing advocate within the critical care areas. In March 2020, Kyle joined Midwest Transplant Network as a Hospital Services Coordinator. He continues to support the critical care nurses at Children’s Mercy as their HSC, and works to ensure that the staff feel supported working alongside MTN to provide hope and solace to grieving donor families and those on the national transplant list through organ, tissue, and eye donation.
