Donation Champions: Strategies for Developing Advocates Inside & Outside of the Hospital
Most people understand the importance of having strong donation champions within hospitals. The real questions lie in how Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) can effectively connect with more hospital partners to keep them engaged so that they continue to be advocates for donation. The goal is to secure their commitment to process improvement as it relates to donation and transplantation to ensure the best possible outcome and experience for the donor families served. Through a multi-disciplinary panel discussion, participants will learn best practices for developing advocates inside and outside of the hospital setting as well as why these panelists got involved in leading cutting-edge brain death simulation workshops, co-hosting annual donation symposiums, serving in advisory roles to their local OPO, and implementing best practices for Donation after Circulatory Determination of Death (DCDD). Join us to hear four leading experts discuss how they ultimately became donation champions!
