Dr. Maya Clark-Cutaia, PhD, ACNP-BC, RN, is the Evelyn Lauder Associate Dean for Nurse Practitioner Programs at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing. A clinician-scientist, educator, and veteran, Dr. Clark-Cutaia is nationally recognized for her leadership in advancing workforce diversity, clinical innovation, and health equity in nursing. Her NIH- and foundation-funded research focuses on symptom management and dietary interventions in end-stage kidney disease, with particular emphasis on sodium consumption and chronic disease outcomes.

In addition to her academic and research leadership, Dr. Clark-Cutaia maintains an active clinical practice as an acute care nurse practitioner, providing direct care to medically complex, underserved populations.

She is a committed mentor and policy advocate whose work bridges academia, community health, and national nursing leadership. Dr. Clark-Cutaia is a 2023 Betty Irene Moore Fellow for Nurse Leaders and Innovators, where she continues to drive transformative change in nursing education and chronic disease research.
