Nancy Metzler

Nancy Metzler has over 35 years of transplant experience.  She has spent the last 21 years as the transplant administrator at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY.  She has served on a number of OPTN committees over the years.  She was the elected Regional Councilor for Region 9 and served on the OPTN Board of Directors and the OPTN Board Finance Committee with her term ending on June 30, 2025.  Past committee service includes the Membership and Professional Standards Committee, Chair of the Transplant Administrator Committee and Chair of the Transplant Management Forum Planning Committee.  She is active in state-wide transplant efforts including serving on committees for NY Kidney, NY Liver and NY heart consortiums. She is a member of the NY State Department of Health Transplant Council and serves as Co-Chair of the NYS Committee on the NASEM report and the Certificate of Need Sub-Committee. She has also served as an Executive Committee Member of the AST Transplant Administrator COP.  She is passionate about transplant and donation, participating as a member of the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network Advisory Board from 2006 to 2024.  She is the Mom of a cornea donor.
