Dr. Neha Patel earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from St. Louis Collage of Pharmacy in St. Louis, MO. From there, she completed her PGY-1 and PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplant Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She then moved back home and took a position at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in abdominal transplant. From there she moved to NC and took a job in lung transplant at Duke. Currently she is back the Medical University of South Carolina working primarily with the abdominal surgery group.

It’s Totally Not the Tacro: Post-Transplant Medication Management Strategies

This course will explore the effects of immunosuppressive drugs on the cognitive functioning of transplant recipients. We will review medication and non-medication related risk factors following a solid-organ transplant, from perioperative and beyond. Additionally, we will explore effective medication management strategies to help patients suffering from cognitive impairment to ensure successful post-transplant medical follow-up.
