Nissa Casey

Nissa is a dedicated leader with over 20 years of progressive experience in the OPO industry. With a deep commitment to advancing medical research and healthcare innovation, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and foster strategic partnerships. Nissa’s expertise spans clinical research operations, organizational risk management, Lean methodologies for healthcare, and the utilization of specialized surgical and medical devices, particularly in the organ procurement and transplantation field. Nissa’s accomplishments include spearheading a groundbreaking research study on expanding the lung donor pool and co-designing innovative transplant processes with Duke University. Her leadership has been recognized through awards including the Empowering Research Award and the Quality Council Award for best quality improvement project. She recently transitioned to the Director of Recovery Services role at LifeLink of Georgia. There she oversees a team of over 50 OPO professionals who facilitate the referral, donor management, allocation, and organ recovery portions of the donation process. In her free time, she enjoys exploring her new home city of Atlanta, keeping her sanity by Crossfitting, and maintaining her Favorite Auntie status with her niece and nephew.
