I am a cardiac surgeon who trained and worked in England for most of my career, before moving to Los Angeles in May 2020. My transplant specialization was actually in the USA as a Fellow, at Duke in North Carolina. I worked at Royal Papworth Hospital in England which is one of the pioneers of DCD heart transplantation. DCD donors are 40% of deceased donors in England.
