Dr. Reed is a transplant epidemiologist and health services researcher with a focus on organ transplant policy and supportive care for caregivers of patients along the continuum of treatment for end-stage kidney disease. She specializes in qualitative research and analysis of large administrative databases, to improve our understanding of the challenges faced by transplant patients and their care partners. She serves as a faculty intern on the Policy and Advocacy Committee of the American Society of Nephrology and have been a member of the UAB Institutional Review Board since January of 2022

We will be joined by a panel of experts who will discuss the broader context, including the attitudes and beliefs of patients, providers, and care partners, and will explore practical solutions to implement. Additionally, they will provide strategies for navigating care transitions, including delivering bad news and setting care goals. Using real-life case scenarios, the program will equip providers with effective and compassionate communication skills to handle these challenging situations with sensitivity and clarity.
