Brief Bio

Sarah has been working with donor families and hospitals at Midwest Transplant Network since 2002. She brought with her 10 years of experience as a critical care social worker and hospital director. She has a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. She was named the National Social Work Leader of the Year in 2001 and a 2020 Ethics Champion for the Center for Practical Bioethics. As part of the MTN Leadership team she is responsible for oversight of stakeholder engagement through Hospital Services and Community Engagement/Public Relations. She directs MTN organ and tissue authorization and referrals and supports donor family aftercare. She feels incredibly lucky to spend her days supporting the staff who are improving the lives and experiences of others through compassionate family, community, and hospital care.
