Sharon Klarman is the System Associate Vice President for Solid Organ Transplantation and Ventricular Assist Devices at Tufts Medicine, providing strategic, operational, and financial oversight across heart, liver, kidney, and living donor programs. She has played a key role in advancing innovative recovery models, expanding access to transplantation, and aligning program growth with health system strategy.
Her research centers on transplant economics, organ acquisition cost methodology, and quality outcomes. She has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented her work at national and international forums, including the World Transplant Congress.
Sharon serves as the Region 1 Representative to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and as Chair of the Boston Transplant Administrator Consortium. She is focused on building collaborative partnerships, strengthening multidisciplinary care models, and driving strategies that improve both patient outcomes and long-term program sustainability.
