Brief Bio

Ms. Susan Zylicz is the Vice President of Transplant Services at Houston Methodist J. C. Walter Jr. Transplant Center. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Houston Baptist University and her Masters in Healthcare Administration from Texas Woman’s University. Susan has 17 years experience in transplantation in both clinical and administrative roles. Beginning her career in transplantation in 1997, she served as heart transplant coordinator at Houston Methodist. Since 2005, she has served as Transplant Administrator and has had an integral role in the growth and development of the multi-organ transplant center providing leadership and direction for the operational, clinical, financial, and strategic activities of all solid organ transplantation programs as well as additional end-organ failure management programs. Susan has experience and expertise in transplant cost reporting issues, regulatory compliance, clinical and administrative operations of a large volume transplant center. Susan leads and facilitates the center’s executive steering committee, organ specific executive councils, Transplant QAPI Committee and organ-specific QAPI Subcommittees. She serves on Houston Methodist’s Organ Donation Council and the Medical Advisory Committee of LifeGift. Susan is a member of AST Transplant Administrators Community of Practice, NATCO, and currently serves as Chapter Advisor of the local ITNS chapter.
