National Leadership Councils

  • National Donation Leadership Council: The Donation Leadership Council works to develop and provide resources and education to improve and advance the organ donation process. The council supports hospital and donation professionals’ efforts in the sharing of knowledge, data and successful practices as it relates to identification of potential donors, family support and communication, and optimizing the availability of organs for transplantation.
  • National Transplant Leadership Council: The Alliance Transplant Leadership Council works to promote engagement of transplant centers by identifying issues and developing programs and resources relevant to transplant center performance and advancement. The council supports transplant center professionals’ efforts to end deaths on the national organ transplant waiting list, increase organ utilization and improve transplant patient outcomes.
  • National Innovation Leadership Council: The National Innovation Leadership Council facilitates leadership networking and innovative idea exchange, development and implementation within the organ donation and transplantation community in an effort to save and heal more lives.

Council selection takes place in November/December of the calendar year.  To be considered you must submit a CV/Resume.


Advancement Series Faculty

The Alliance Live Advancement Series presents more than 25 live webinar programs per year on relevant, timely topics impacting the donation and transplantation community of practice. Webinar topics are identified, coordinated and moderated by national faculty workgroups, comprised of leading professionals across the community.

The selection process takes place in May of each year.


Conversation Series Faculty

This workgroup is always looking for professionals throughout the community to join and contribute to the planning process for the year. They are actively exploring topics to add to the calendar for the year and would welcome additional input and support.


The Quality Corner Workgroup

The Quality Corner Workgroup develops publications focused on advancing quality and performance across both donation and transplant. Each issue highlights relevant metrics, data collection methodologies, and monitoring practices to support system-wide improvement. Resources include an executive summary, background context, practical tools, actionable recommendations, and downloadable one-page summaries. Participation from both donation and transplant professionals is strongly encouraged, as the goal of this workgroup is to equip the broader community with the insights and resources needed to drive continuous quality improvement.


Executive Insight Series Workgroup

The Executive Insight Series Workgroup focuses on creating bi-annual publications tailored for healthcare senior executives. Each issue addresses critical topics relevant to top-tier hospital leadership, providing essential references, resources, and tools to enhance decision-making. By delivering insightful content, this workgroup supports healthcare leaders in navigating the complexities of hospital administration and driving organizational success.


Mentorship Program

This program engages knowledgeable leaders in the community with early-career professionals who need coaching, guidance, and education. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive mentorship experience that accelerates career growth and advances overall patient survival for organ donation and transplantation.

Community Engagement Workgroup

The Alliance Community Engagement Workgroup focuses on promoting Community Engagement within the donation and transplant communities. Through insightful discussions and resources, the workgroup encourages organizations and individuals to assess their current initiatives and identify strategies for improvement. By emphasizing effective practices in recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring, and retention, this workgroup aims to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce that drives positive change.


Community Resource Toolbox Workgroup

The Alliance Community Resource Toolbox is a cost-free, online library featuring more than 900 curated donation and transplant-focused tools that support high-performing operations across the continuum of care. To preserve its integrity and value, the Community Resource Toolbox Review Committee conducts periodic evaluations of all tools, templates, and resources to confirm they remain accurate, current, and aligned with evolving clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices. In addition to maintaining existing content, the Committee assesses community needs and emerging trends to identify gaps and recommend the development or inclusion of new resources to ensure the Toolbox continues to serve as a relevant, dynamic, and high-value resource for the field.
