A histocompatibility laboratory that is not independent from the transplant hospital it serves. Hospital- based histocompatibility laboratories are held to the same standards and requirements as histocompatibility laboratory members, but do not have a vote on OPTN business separate from the vote granted the transplant hospital member with whom it is associated.
