Utility and Justice

Because the supply of organs is so limited, policymakers must balance Utility – making the best use of each organ, utilizing every available organ and doing the most good for the most people, with Justice – providing all transplant candidates with equitable access to transplant care and transplantable organs regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, financial status or geography.
