Kourtney Salib, MOL, serves as Interim Director of Transplant Services at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, overseeing both heart and kidney transplant programs. She began her career with Providence at the age of 16 in an administrative role, building a strong foundation in healthcare operations early on.
In 2018, Kourtney joined Providence Kidney Transplantation as a Transplant Program Assistant, where she developed a deep understanding of transplant coordination, regulatory requirements, and multidisciplinary program management. In 2021, she transitioned into a management role, leading transplant operations through a period of significant physician turnover and organizational change. During this time she focused on rebuilding program stability, strengthening team culture, and driving sustainable growth—leading successful recruitment efforts that included onboarding three transplant nephrologists and an additional transplant surgeon. Under her leadership, transplant volumes increased from the mid-30s in 2020 to 85 transplants in 2025.
She was nominated for The Alliance 40 Under 40 by Angela Miller, Kidney Transplant Coordinator at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Miller described how Kourtney stepped up as interim manager amid the departure of the program’s manager, medical director, and remaining nephrologist, earning her master’s degree and working tirelessly to keep the program open. “Our program and our community are so lucky to have her,” Miller wrote. “Our future is bright because of her.”
