Prior to joining Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency, Michelle served as Hospital Development Regional Manager in the External Affairs Department for Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network. Michelle manages a team that combines hospital development and requesting skills to influence relationships and increase organ & tissue donation. She recently led a successful restructure of her Hospital Development team, which has resulted in significant increases in approaches, authorizations, donors and organs transplanted. She also oversees strategic initiatives to grow Gift of Hope’s Satellite operations and has coordinated several successful Brain Death Simulation Workshops to standardize brain death declaration and is a project leader on other strategies including a Critical Care Advisory Group (CCAG). Michelle draws upon her fifteen years of health care experience to seek out every opportunity to help her team increase organ and tissue donation, develop hospital relationships and support families.

The Alliance has opened up many learning opportunities and has given me the chance to network with other OPO and donation & transplantation professionals through my participation on the faculty workgroups. I am also part of the mentorship program and I have appreciated being able to guide others on their leadership journey. The time I have spent with the mentees is valuable and has inspired both of us. I am thankful to be a part of The Alliance and I look forward to contributing to this organization in other ways.Lifelong Networks
