COVID+ Donors: Considerations & Controversies

Sessions are designed to be approximately 30-45 minutes in length and encourage real-time feedback and participation from viewers.
Overview: In this session, we will discuss the risks for transmission of COVID to recipients of organs from donors with a history of or active COVID which are not fully understood. The goals are to discuss under what specific conditions might it be appropriate to use organs from COVID+ donors, and to describe the potential benefits vs risks.
- Summarize data on use of donors with positive SARS-CoV test results.
- Describe current guidelines regarding the use of COVID+ donors.
- List potential risks for use of organs from COVID+ donors.
