Overview: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) has become a critical focus within the healthcare community which has prompted OPOs, hospitals, and transplant centers to take a hard look at their current practices to identify improvement strategies and promote positive changes to their workplace culture. DEIB is achieved through the understanding and acceptance of all unique experiences and perspectives, as well as the validation of the differences that exist between races, ethnicities, genders, ages, skill sets, and abilities. To improve an organization’s culture, we must start from within and that goes far beyond the recruitment and hiring of employees.
