Brief Bio

Sara Angle RN, BSN, Organ Donor Coordinator (ODC), Administrator On Call (AOC), and Supervisor for the organ team at DonorConnect.

I have been a nurse for 23 years. I have worked in many areas as a nurse but especially loved trauma ICU. This is where I was exposed to donors and recruited into the world of donation.

I have been with DonorConnect for 9 years. I am a current supervisor for the organ team. I also work as an Administrator on Call (AOC) and still go on-site as an Organ Donor Coordinator (ODC).

I love my job and am very proud to be a part of changing lives through organ donation. My organ team is my extended family and am thrilled to be part of the world of donation.

Maximizing Donation Outcomes: Centralized DCD Recovery Strategies

Several OPOs nationwide have adapted the DCD recovery process by transferring patients to a centralized center in an effort to improve the quality of care and maximize donation outcomes. During this session, we will welcome three OPOs, in varying stages of the centralized DCD process, to share their experiences from inception to the current state. They will walk us through the hurdles they have navigated and the strategies that implemented to optimize success.
