Sara Bowman has been an Organ Donation Coordinator with DonorConnect since January 2011. She is currently the Clinical Manager of Organ Recovery. Prior to working at DonorConnect, she was a clinical nurse in the Neuro Critical Care and Bone Marrow Transplant units at the University of Utah. Maximizing Donation Outcomes: Centralized DCD Recovery Strategies

Several OPOs nationwide have adapted the DCD recovery process by transferring patients to a centralized center in an effort to improve the quality of care and maximize donation outcomes. During this session, we will welcome three OPOs, in varying stages of the centralized DCD process, to share their experiences from inception to the current state. They will walk us through the hurdles they have navigated and the strategies that implemented to optimize success.
