The Organ Donation and Transplantation is pleased to announce a partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), which has endorsed the 2023 National Pediatric Donation and Transplantation Summit. The event, which will take place in Houston, Texas, will bring together pediatric transplantation professionals, organ procurement organizations and other healthcare professionals to discuss the current state and future of pediatric organ donation and transplantation.
The summit will focus on critical issues related to pediatric organ donation, including determination of death laws, approach and authorization strategies, ethical considerations, donor management, transplant outcomes and other unique opportunities and applications for pediatric patients. Additionally, the summit will provide an opportunity for participants to share best practices and innovations in the field.
“The mission of The Alliance is to unite the healthcare continuum to promote collaboration, cascade innovations and share effective practices for the benefit of restoring lives through transplantation,” said Alliance Executive Director Karri Hobson-Pape. “Given this, it is only fitting that we produce this highly specialized summit in concert with the healthcare expertise of the AAP.”
The National Pediatric Donation and Transplantation Summit is scheduled to take place May 24-25, 2023 at the Marriott Marquis in Houston, Texas. Registration, agenda and hotel information is available here.
